Swervedriver!!

I haven't put a blog entry up for awhile. It's about time!

Swervedriver. Formed in Oxford in 1989 around core members Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge amidst the shoegazing movement. During its initial decade-long run, the band released four studio albums and numerous EPs and singles despite a considerable flux of members, managers, and record labels. By 1993 the band’s lineup had settled with Franklin on vocals/guitar, Hartridge on guitar, Jez Hindmarsh on drums, and Steve George on bass. A heavier rock sound had also emerged and over the next five years evolved to include elements of psychedelia, classic pop, and indie rock. After losing their fourth label in as many years, the band dissolved at the end of 1998. A continually devoted fanbase of “Swervies” garnered the release of an anthology in 2005 and remastered versions of their first three albums in 2008. Swervedriver reunited for major tours in 2008 and 2012 and conducted an Australian mini-tour in September and October 2013.

Live in Sydney in 2011.

"Good Times, Bad Times" - Led Zeppelin

Jordan Carvalho playing the solo for "Good Times, Bad Times" - Led Zeppelin

I've taught Jordan Carvalho for a number of years, and he's been an excellent and dedicated student. He's a great example of what an advanced student would be working on in a typical week at Red House.

Summer Rock Camps 2013 Comming Up!!

Hi Everyone,
We're slowly gearing up for the Rock Camps this summer. We are adding a songwriting and recording to the camps to break up the week a little more, as rehearsing can get a little monotonous.

Red House Music Academy will be involved in the Dundas Street Festival on June 8th. We'll have live bands including the faculty and students, so stop by and say hi if you can!. There will be more info about this in the near future!!

Our 3rd Annual Christmas Show...

Hi Everyone,
Our 3rd Annual Christmas Show will be on December 15th at Opera Bob's public house, at 2pm, which is located right beside the school. Unfortunately, The Dakota wasn't available on that day. Let me know which students would like to participate either as a solo performer, or in a band. Rehearsals will begin this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
